SCORE Client of the Year Award: Positioned for Growth, Natural Foods

We are so proud to announce that we have been named a 2026 SCORE Client of the Year for the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region in the Client Positioned for Growth – Natural Foods category. Selected from approximately 3,500 small businesses participating in the program, this recognition is an incredible honor and a meaningful milestone in our journey.

SCORE is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting small businesses through mentorship, education, and resources. By connecting entrepreneurs with experienced business mentors and offering workshops and tools for growth, SCORE plays a vital role in helping small businesses build strong foundations and scale with intention.

Since joining the SCORE program in 2024, Rough Seas Productions has experienced remarkable growth. In just two years, we have grown our business threefold while staying rooted in our mission of creating fresh, organic, garden-grown herbal teas and meaningful community experiences. During this time, we have:

  • Taught over 75 tea blending workshops
  • Hosted more than 30 tea parties
  • Participated in over 30 markets
  • Sold more than 800 units of tea and tea accessories
  • Expanded into 6 retail locations throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area

Our growth has been guided and strengthened by the support of our SCORE mentor, Nicole Ford, whose insight, encouragement, and enthusiasm have been instrumental every step of the way. We are deeply grateful for her mentorship and belief in our vision.

As we celebrate this achievement, we are also looking ahead. Rough Seas Productions is currently expanding its presence into Nevada while continuing to grow and serve our DMV community. Our garden is thriving, our offerings are evolving, and we are developing exciting new partnerships for custom blends and collaborative events in both regions.

This award is not just a reflection of our work, but of the community that has supported us along the way. From our customers and partners to every guest who has attended a workshop or shared a cup of tea with us, we are incredibly thankful.
